Reducing stress at work not only makes the work day pass faster, but can improve your overall mood and happiness. Since work is one of the top causes of stress for most individuals, it is important to find ways to relieve stress that work for you. Give these tips a try the next time you are in the office!
This is an easy one that can be done anywhere. Start simple and the next time you are feeling stressed at work take three full, deep breaths. While you are doing this, set all of your stress, worries, and to-do lists aside and only focus on your breath. Get Your Blood Flowing
Though you likely cannot fit in an entire workout throughout your work day, circulating the blood and getting your heart rate up, even for a few minutes, can have a drastic impact on reducing the stress you may encounter. Whether it is doing a few stretches in your cubicle or taking a short walk for some fresh air, you will feel recharged and relieved of stress when you are done.
Make a List
Often stress stems from feeling overwhelmed with the things we have to accomplish. Make a list of what you need to get done and prioritize. This allows you to put the tasks you need to accomplish in perspective. More than likely, not all of the tasks are required immediately, allowing you to accomplish the most important things first.

If your workspace is somewhere you can feel happy and energized, this will help reduce the stress you feel there. Consider bringing in something from nature (like flowers) or hanging a reminder of your favorite quote on the wall.
Identify the Source of Your Stress
Try tackling your stress head on. Often times the things we think we are stressing about stem from the root cause of our stress. Find this root cause of your stress and consider all of the options you have based on that. Stress occurs when we allow our emotions about something consume our mind. Take a look at the options you have and logically choose the best course of action. For example, if you have a big deadline coming up and you are stressed about finishing, your options may be delegating some of the work, asking your boss for an extension, or staying late at the office.
